Digital Imaging Services
The services offered in this section are an integral part of our studio providing you with outstanding detail and depth of color. Whether we are applying enhancement to images shot in our studio, or restoring your old family photographs, your images will be carefully and artistically rendered using a creative digital workflow. Please take a moment to review the items below to see which service will provide you with the best imaging solution. At any time you can also access this information from the drop-down menu above under the heading "digital imaging services".
Photographic Restoration: This is the process of reconditioning old or damaged photographs. During the restoration, your original photographs remain unchanged as all of the work is done on an electronic copy of your picture. When everything is finished, a new print of your photograph is made. For every photograph restored at Level II or higher we provide our clients with one complimentary print up to 8x10 inches.
Retouching: Simply stated, this is the process by which electronic images are digitally altered using an image editing program like Adobe Photoshop. More often than not, even a great image can be made into a spectacular one. The level of complexity involved in retouching can vary greatly... from a few minutes to even several or more days. Each image that is ordered from our studio undergoes a series of special retouching techniques that result in beautiful prints. For each hour in the studio we provide our clients with one complimentary 8x10 retouched photograph.
Electronic Illustrations: This is a fancy term for computer artwork. Essentially, this is a mixture of photography, computer imaging, and a little imagination. Although the concepts behind these pieces are usually quite simple, they tend to deliver a significant visual impact.
Scanning: We are able to scan all of your 35mm and medium format negatives in addition to all of your reflective artwork, including photographs.
Virtual Paintings: A variety of smooth and textured fine art papers are available. All of these papers have been manufactured to the highest archival standards. In most cases these paper have been rated at 150+ years when used in conjunction with our pigment based inks.
